Casa Cueva Villa Alta

This Cave-house on the north of Gran Canaria is the perfect place for resting and relaxing.

The cave houses have been the dwellings of the “Guanches”, the first settlers of the islands. Despite the Conquista by the Spanish and everything they brought to our islands, people are still living in caves, especially in the mountain areas of the isle.
This is mainly thanks to the fact that these cave houses maintain a constant temperature throughout the year of 17 to 22 degrees Celsius, making them warm in the winter and cool in the summertime. The cave house has been refurbished, painted and rearranged over the months of October and November 2014 and it counts with a bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom with 2 singles beds and a craddle, living room, full equipped kitchen, toilet, Satellite TV, washing machine, radiator, blankets and towels.
Near the house you will find the Etnografic Museum and the cave-chapel of Virgen the Fatima, catalogued as Historical Patrimony. You can also visit the closely placed districts of Artenara and Tejeda.
