Signing of twinning arrangements between Valladolid Rural and Gran Canaria Natural and Active

In the 39th edition of the International Tourism Fair FITUR 2019 took place the signing of the twinning arrangement between the Entrepreneurs Association of Rural Tourism of Valladolid, , and the Entrepreneurs Association of Natural Tourism of Gran Canaria, , with the aim of determining the basis for collaboration between both entities in order to create a product, promote and commercialize the Rural Tourism and its different experiences.

The twinning ceremony counted on the presence of the President of Gran Canaria Tourist Board and the Counselor of Tourism of Gran Canaria city council, Ms. María Inés Jiménez Martín, the Vice-president of the Valladolid Provincial Council and the Deputy of Tourism of Valladolid, Mr. Víctor Alonso Mongue, the President of Valladolid Rural Association, Mr. Luis Ángel Chico Luque, the Vice-president of Gran Canaria Natural and Active Association, Mr. Manuel Palenzuela Quintana and the Managing Director of this association, Ms. Verónica Alemán Díaz.

The main goal of this agreement is to make the rural establishments known, along with its touristic resources, the Patrimony, the Gastronomy, the Enotourism, the Nature, etc., emphasising the relevance of the tourism and culture pairing as an opportunity of growing. It was also important the bet on the sustainable tourism and the necessity of reaching a balance between tradition and innovation.

“We want to offer the Gran Canaria Islanders the innumerable experiences and activities that the Castilian and Leonese rural world and, especially, Valladolid offers through Gran Canaria. We want Gran Canaria to be our Valladolid and Castilla y León insular reference window”, declares Luis Chico. “This initiative will be a great opportunity to promote our rural tourism, our costumes and our tradition in a community of reference”, added Manuel Palenzuela. “This collaboration agreement allows us to make promotion synergies and actions in the domestic market to attract tourists form their place of origin, creating experiences that have an impact in their emotions”, stated Verónica Alemán.
