El Pajar Rural House

Once the farmhouse stables and later used as storage for drying tobacco, El Pajar has been beautifully renovated to receive guests. The house is a fusion of modern design classics with traditional architecture. El Pajar has all of the modern comforts of home and can host up to 4 guests in two separate double bedrooms. There is the option to add an extra guest on the sofabed.

La Labranza Rural House

La Labranza is one of the two houses on our Bohemian Hideaway private estate, where you will find everything you need for an unforgettable vacation. You will love the architecture and furnishings of the rooms, and the palm tree pool is just steps from your door. The Labranza is ideal for up to 4 people, with the option of an additional bed. All the rooms are accessed by the patio and the stairs, as usual in the Canary farms.

Gran Canaria Natural and Active, which aims to promote Gran Canaria as a natural destination, keeps on growing thanks to the support of international hiking festivals across Europe. In previous years, Gran Canaria Natural and Active, organiser of the international hiking festival "Gran Canaria Walking Festival" has twinned with acclaimed festivals like Cowal Fest (Scotland), the International Nordic Walking Festival (Italy) or the Walking Festival Ameixial (Portugal). In addition to this, the association has synergies with the European Ramblers Association which already has 3 million members in Europe.

This year the management board has been invited to participate in the first edition of the Val d’Aran Walking Festival. Mr Manuel Palenzuela (vice president of Gran Canaria Natural and Active) participated in the event and the twinning ceremony between both festivals. Thanks to this act, the collaboration that began in past editions of Gran Canaria Walking Festival continues. The Val d'Aran Walking Festival organizers attended to previous editions of Gran Canaria Walking Festival to learn the know-how of the most international hiking festival in the Canary Islands.

The Val d'Aran Walking Festival held from the 2nd to the 8th July 2018. The board of directors of the Gran Canaria Natural and Active presented a commemorating plaque on the 8th July, the last day of the festival.

The VII edition of Gran Canaria Walking Festival will take place from the 24th to the 28th October 2018. It will show the natural and real side of Gran Canaria to hikers from all over the world: its most wonderful spots, its gastronomic and cultural wealth, Gran Canaria as a starlight destination and local people's joy. The festival continues breaking records thanks to the support of new sponsors and more than 50 partner institutions and companies.

Gran Canaria Walking Festival is sponsored by Gran Canaria Tourist Board, Gran Canaria Biosphere Reserve and the city councils of San Bartolomé de Tirajana - Maspalomas Costa Canaria, Villa de Moya, Villa de Agaete, Valleseco y Artenara. It is promoted by partner companies that provide local products with unique snacks, high-quality beverages, exotic and typical products, the varied offer of leisure and experiences on Gran Canaria. The festival is supported by the media and national and international entities.

Discover Teror

Today we will travel to the north side of Gran Canaria, in particular to the surroundings of Teror, a mysterious town full of charm that is known for being a place for pilgrimage.

The town of Teror covers 25.8 square kilometers and 14% of that area is declared protected. There you can find two important natural Parks, such as the Rural Park of Doramas (Finca de Osorio) and the protected area of Pino Santo. With signposted roads, La Finca de Osorio has six different routes for hiking lovers. In them, the viewer can enjoy the wide variety of fauna and flora from the island of Gran Canaria. Besides hiking, the town of Teror is well-known for its festival of Our Lady of the Pine, a religious fest that is considered an International Tourist Interest. This event has a personal meaning for the locals. Every year, in September 8th, it takes place the celebration of Our Lady of the Virgin of the Pine. Here, inhabitants of the whole island, after making a promise or a request, make a pilgrimage with the intention that the Patron of the island hear their prayers and makes their wishes come true. We can ensure, that this is a magical day, because people from all places of the island come to one spot, to Teror.

From Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: →Through Teror GC-21 highway. → Through La Carretera del Norte GC-43, which border the coast, when you exit the town of Arucas. → If you take La Carretera del Centro, when you arrive to San Mateo, take the road GC-42 and you will arrive to la Villa de Teror. On the bus: From Las Palmas de Gran Canaria → you can take the lines 216 and 229 (every 30 minutes).
