Aborigen experience
This route can begin in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria or in the south of the island. Our destination is Agüimes, more precisely a picturesque village called Temisas. After a short trail with excellent views and native vegetation, we will enter an extraordinary pre-Hispanic granary. We will learn what the diet of the Canarian aborigines was, how and where they stored their food. A few minutes from the granary, you will find one of the places where the ancient Canarians performed their magical-religious ceremonies, what could be called their sacred space. We will perform our own Sun Toast with indigenous words. We will travel a few kilometers by bus, and in the municipality of Santa Lucía, we will have lunch on a typical Canarian farm with local products such as wrinkled potatoes, cheese, olives from the area, wine, pork leg... We will have the opportunity to take a short ride on a Canarian donkey. To conclude our route, we head to the so-called La Fortaleza and Cueva de las Sombras, a magnificent indigenous settlement, but not before entering its interpretation center where audiovisuals show us the way of life of our indigenous Canarians, as well as allowing us to appreciate archaeological remains and other curiosities.
